Un mensaje de Meine desde el KRING respecto al futuro de la comunicacion entre grupos de coleccionistas y que ha pasado completamente desapercibido y sin ninguna respuesta

In the Netherlands we have the KRING (Dutch Circle for Historical Calculating Instruments) with some 35 members. A few times per year we have a physical meeting. The number of members however is declining. Members pass away because of age and new members don't come. Slide rules is a niche subject for a hobby.
The KRING has an annual fee of €25 per year, used for meetings and sending a printed periodical to our members. Most but not all members are using personal computers, so we decided to skip our periodical in print, although exceptions will be made. Another thing is that articles written by members are in Dutch. To reach a more international group of interested, English could be great, but also a barrier for our older members. Apart from the double efford writing bi-langual articles.
My question to you is: are you a member of a national or regional group of slide rule enthousiasts? How do you keep up the number of members? Any ideas on attracting new (and younger) members? How do you deal with language? Do you organize phisical meetings, or is it just online?
With moving from Yahoo to this forum, we estimated, that world wide, there probably are some 400 to 500 active collectors of slide rules and alike mechanical instruments. Scattered over the planet, some countries only have a few active, maintaining a personal website. Some silent collectors, others participating in some kind of 'club'.
The challenge is, how to keep our subject alive. On studying, writing, collecting and preserving slide rules and the knowledge on it.
Hope to see your reactions!
